1.12 Ad hoc Defect Recording
Enterprises working with assembly processes and supply chain management are very sensitive to the cost of unnecessarily delayed material flow by the testing of incoming goods. Methods must be adjusted to reduce the inspection effort. The ultimate aim is to Skip-to-Stock. With Adhoc Flaw Recording, if a machine operator recognizes a flaw not included in planned tests, he records it directly on site. The Adhoc Defect Recording module in GUARDUS™MES records it and describes the deficient part using a central deficiency catalogue. The GUARDUS™MES workflow module then informs the responsible quality manager, bringing forward information concerning the incident. If at the subsequent finding, a failure by a supplier is identified, GUARDUS™MES offers a test report which is included in the quality history and the supplier assessment. Thus, with low effort, the production deviations are documented and classified according to the costs-by-cause principle and a continuous improvement process is assured.
