2.7 Production Control Centre
Successful suppliers and producers must be able to quickly adapt to ever-changing customer requirements, all the while offering the same high reliability. A large number of orders and the connections between them belong to the present, sometimes even intense, work environment of a production scheduler. Resource shortfalls or changes in customer requirements can lead to an expensive, and at times even risky, creation of a new production plan.
For most organizations various optimisation approaches such as sequencing, grouping, inventory reduction, better resource occupancy and set-up time reduction cannot be taken into consideration. Only modern planning software can fully make use of the optimisation potentials for production.
The FEKOR Production Control Centre is an important add-on to the GUARDUS offering, and it is a software instrument which meets all the demands of the modern production planning system. With this software, the production scheduler can effortlessly generate production scenarios based on available capacities and several other factors, giving the scheduler more time to concentrate on real production issues.
Production order scenarios can be planned and compared on the basis of performance with nearly no limitation to complexity and volume. “What-if” scenarios simulate holistically the consequences of changing any given parameter in the manufacturing process, without creating anxiety in the production area.
For employees on the production floor, the direct result of planning with GUARDUS MES is immediate access to an ever up-to-date list of production orders – in the optimal sequence and pre-selected for every workplace in the production area.
Information coming from operators such as produced quantities and machine conditions are also used to update factors for the next planning cycle making the organization more and more efficient as time goes by.
