Sirona Dental Systems' new Quality Management System made by GUARDUS Solutions AG
Sirona Dental goes Paperless, Complies with FDA Requirements
Sirona Dental Systems found that its demand for an integrated manufacturing execution system (MES) for all quality and inspection processes along the production chain could be best met by the MES provided by GUARDUS Solutions AG. The world-renowned dental technology leader located in Bensheim, Germany, intends to establish a paperless management solution in all production areas, from the production order up to the stock of finished goods, through a new software solution.
“GUARDUS Solutions AG convinced us with both its software solution and the high expertise of its team. The new MES enables us to comply with all medical requirements in this area. Moreover, for the first time, we can obtain real-time information about all quality and production data that can be immediately used for evaluations and performance indicators analysis,” said Jan Siefert, vice president of the Instrument Division at Sirona. Siefert also expects an improvement in work efficiency with the disappearance of numerous paper files along the value chain. Standard interfaces for the ERP system and the PLM application will guarantee seamless communication with the business world.
Sirona is a dental technology leader with products on the cutting edge of modern dental treatment. The introduction of the in-lab system made Sirona the leader in CAD/CAM systems in the laboratory market. The company was founded in 1997 as a result of a private equity buyout of the former dental division of Siemens AG. Since 1998, following the sale of its trading sector, Sirona has concentrated solely on manufacturing, achieving an outstanding sales volume in a rather difficult market environment. In June 2006, the company acquired Schick Technologies, Inc., the American intraoral radiographic imaging specialist, as part of a reverse merger. Since then, Sirona Dental Systems, Inc., has been listed on the NASDAQ, the US technology stock exchange, and has opened a new chapter in its history. Sirona currently employs more than 2,300 employees.
Sirona’s constant investment in research and development guarantees that it will maintain its leading position in dental innovation and quality applications. Its unique expertise in integrated dental systems is helping to shape the future of dental technology around the world.
